PSI Executive Board 150 Communiqué

The PSI Executive Board EB-150 met on 20–21 April to assess progress since its last meeting and prepare for the PSI World Congress, taking place on 30 October to 3 November 2017 in Geneva. The meeting heard a comprehensive report of global and regional activities in a challenging political context and welcomed 28 new affiliates.

Non-Standard Work in the Healthcare Sector in South Asia is a series of publications aimed at disseminating information on the challenges facing the health workforce in the region, both in the public and private sector. Overall, we hope that the booklets published under the series will provide a window into the issues of interest of Public Services International, South Asia and areas of possible collaboration with existing and future allies in the struggle for Health for All with Decent Work around the world.

PSI research paper explores options for sustainable and fair local and regional government funding

PSI has just published a research briefing note that reviews options for local and regional governments (LRGs) to sustainably and progressively fund quality public services for local communities and tackle the challenges posed by rapid urbanization and increasing demands placed upon LRGs  in a context of shrinking resources, corporate tax avoidance and rising city and territory-based tax competition. The brief summarizes the related discussion paper, which is open for comments and contributions till the end of May 2017.
