Guy Ryder, ILO Director General, speaks at the PSI Executive Board meeting (EB-147) that took place in Geneva, Switzerland on 27-28 May 2015.
Guy Ryder expresses the importance for the ILO and PSI to construct a common agenda in order to respond to the many challenges for the two organisations.
He talks about the many issues workers face, including the right to strike, unemployment and precarious work. Today, less than 25% of people working in a standard employment situation, full time permanent contract.
The UN has defined 2015 as the year for global action and Ryder speaks about upcoming events: the Sendai Disaster Risk Reduction Conference, the Financing for Development Conference in Addis Ababa, the UN summit to adopt the Post 2015 development agenda in New-York and the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris.
