PSI is collaborating with the Caribbean Public Services Association (CPSA) in a series of presentations and discussions on the role of the public sector in the economic development of the Caribbean. CPSA’s affiliates – many of whom are also affiliates of the CPSA - are meeting in Anguilla from 26-28 July for their 47th annual conference.
Authors of the recently launched Spotlight Report will present key findings and recommendations to participants for discussion. The 2017 edition focuses on privatization, partnerships, corporate capture and the impact they have on sustainability and inequality.
PSI General Secretary, Rosa Pavanelli, will be speaking on 17 July at the UNSG’s High-Level Panel (HLP) on Women’s Economic Empowerment. The HLP is a side event at the High Level Political Forum (HLPF), currently taking place in New York.

The FP-CGIL will be organising the National Public Service Days in Palermo, Italy, from 8-10 September where debates, meetings and events will be held. The three days will be dedicated to valorisation of public services with the aim to strengthen and improve relationships between citizens and workers to safeguard services and the public interests.

Ministers and high-level decision-makers will share their public service innovations in The Hague on 22 and 23 June 2017. PSI will be attending this 2-day forum where participants will discuss how to best mobilize the public services and accelerate innovation to achieve the vision of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how to leave no one behind.
On Monday, June 5, the World Alternative Water Forum (FAMA, in Portuguese and Spanish) will be launched in São Paulo, Brazil. Counterpoint to the World Water Forum, dominated by privatizing and mercantilist interests, FAMA advocates access to this natural resource as a human right, not as a commodity. Both will take place in March 2018 in Brasilia.
