Final report of the expert group to the High-Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth

The United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, established the High-Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth (ComHEEG) in March 2016. Its task is to propose intersectoral actions to guide and stimulate the creation of health and social sector jobs to advance inclusive economic growth. In support of the Commission’s work, an Expert Group was convened to critically review the available evidence.

Bisexuality: a trade union issue

UNISON is one of the UK's largest trade unions, with more than 1.3 million members. UNISON represents all staff who provide public services in both the public and private sectors. UNISON has a long and proud history on equality, recognising that bisexual people face particular issues at work and striving to tackle biphobic prejudice and discrimination. Bisexual people are those who feel attraction to more than one gender. The 2010 Equality Act protects bisexual people (and lesbian, gay and heterosexual people) from discrimination because of their sexual orientation.

PSI Report: Gender equality and water

PSI submitted case studies from India, Kenya, Argentina and Ecuador on the gender implications of the human right to water and sanitation for the UN Special Rapporteur on the human right to safe drinking water and sanitation. The studies touch on gender implications of legislation, public finance, participatory decision-making, and monitoring.

Report: The Syrian refugee crisis and its effect on public services in Turkey

This research aims to discover the living and working conditions of Syrian refugees, their level of access to public services, the problems they encounter in accessing public services and the effects of this wave of migration on public service workers. The study was carried out with the support of PSI's Swedish affiliate Kommunal and released in Ankara on 6 February at the SES office - one of the eleven PSI affiliated organisations in the country.
