Educational International (EI) and Public Services International (PSI) join LGBT groups and other human rights defenders in condemning increasing intolerance and attacks on the rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people. Governments the world over appear to be abdicating their duty to protect and advance the human rights of all their citizens, including LGBT people.

PSI affiliates generously answer call for Philippines solidarity support

Urge the Turkish President to let doctors treat their patients

The Turkish president is considering signing a health bill that will criminalize emergency medical care and punish doctors with heavy fines and imprisonment for simply doing their jobs.


Physicians for Human Rights is calling on citizens around the world to write to the Turkish President in order to stop the health bill from becoming law.

The PSI Regional Committee against Racism and Xenophobia, in its meeting held on 21 and 22 November 2013, in Bogotá, Colombia, expressed deep concern about the decision of the Dominican Republic Constitutional Court to take citizenship away from thousands of people who were born in the Dominican Republic. This unacceptable ruling threatens the very livelihoods of the individuals and families who are affected. In fact, it threatens the entire society.

10 December is human rights day. We celebrate and remember the struggle of many for human rights and dignity.  The European Citizens’ Initiative “Water is a human right!” is proud to be part of that struggle that unites many on our planet. It has engaged hundred thousands in Europe to demand that the European Commission takes steps to implement the right to water as adopted by the UN in 2010.

Human Rights Day is commemorated on 10th December to mark the date the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, proclaiming its principles as the “common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations”.
