This document has been prepared for the United Nations' member states and their deliberations, for decision-making over the post-2015 agenda and for a specific Sustainable Development Goal on energy.

The document provides a broad overview of the issues in the sector, relating to national development, to health, to greenhouse gas emissions, etc. 

The first four pages are very useful in order to get an overview; the last four pages discuss the various options being presented to the UN member states.
