Spain: Action day against cuts in public sector

Severe budget cuts are undermining and theatening our welfare state, says Spanish trade unions. Today, June 28., they call for action all over the country.

The Spanish government have cut their budgets with up to 24 per cent in certain sectors. The consequences are the hitting public services, and every Spanish ctizen, says the PSI-affiliated Spanish union UGT.

June 28 is the fourth day of action in Spain since the General Stike on March 29.The main slogan for todays action is: You do not play with health!

In addition to UGT, the day of action is also supporteed by the trade unions CCOO, CSI-F and SATSE. From 12 noon there will be activities and mobilisation that will affect public services all over the country.
