Global Unions sign global health and safety agreement with GDF-SUEZ

Signing of new health and safety agreement
On 13 May 2014, representatives from Public Services International, IndustriALL and Building and Woodworkers' International (BWI) signed a health and safety agreement with GDF-SUEZ. The agreement resolves to define and implement fundamental principles regarding health and safety at work within GDF SUEZ companies.

The global agreement with GDF SUEZ also lays down the intention to negotiate follow-up agreements on issues of mutual interest. Together with our sister global unions IndustriAll and BWI, PSI started negotiations on occupational health and safety (OHS) in 2013. We based the agreement on the model of the European OHS agreement, which was concluded by the European Works Council (EWC), and modified it to apply to global GDF SUEZ operations.

PSI affiliates have expressed their appreciation for the new agreement that will improve their working conditions and lead to a healthier and better work environment.
